The Los Angeles Angels have signed Raul Ibanez to a one year $2.75 million deal with incentives that could push the deal up to $5 million. Ibanez, 41, spent last year with the Seattle Mariners, and was able to blast 29 homers while slugging nearly .500. An American league team was really the only option for Ibanez as he is often used at DH to protect his aging legs but still have his bat in the lineup. In fact, Ibanez's three years with the Angels represent the only time he has ever played for a team in the National League. It will be interesting to see if Ibanez can match what he did last year. I think it will be hard for him to even come close, but hey he proved us wrong last year, who's to say he won't prove us wrong again.
